Velvet: 100 % nylon 2 oz/ 88 yds 3 1/2 sts = 1" # 9
Ever desired a chenille yarn that won't worm or bias and still feels like heaven? Let me introduce you to Velvet, our newest yarn for fall 2007. A new type of construction, Velvet is a light railroad style ribbon that has one chenille edge. When knitted, the fabric acquires an incredibly plush, soft hand reminiscent of your favorite cozy towels or bathrobe--but with more elegance and sophistication! Bits of ribbon show through, adding an extra detail. When worked on a larger needle or more openly with long stitches or in eyelet designs, the combination of ribbon and chenille shows through even more. Great yardage and all of our hand dyed colors make this a true winner, and it looks spectacular in our sand washed solids. We haven't dyed all of the colors yet, but here are some to give you an idea of how rich it looks. Check back soon for more colors. Patterns include a tailored, fitted jacket with ribbon pinstripes and a flounced collar; a ruffled shrug and an elegant wrap.
