Bowen: 100% nylon 2 oz/ 75 yds suggested gauge: 12 sts = 4" # 13 needle Introducing Bowen, a lovely tubular nylon ribbon with a twist. A denser rib, also of nylon, runs along the lilightly knitted main yarn, producing a strand that is airy yet has body. Better yet, the two textures take the dye a bit differently, offering an even more visually complex fabric. We like Bowen best when used in a simple pattern stitch such as yo, k 2 tog or Fisherman's rib; and also when combined with other yarns as one of three in A, B, C rows or alternating 2 rows, 2 rows. It has exceptional yardage for a bulky yarn, and so keeps other thick yarns from becoming too heavy. We have photographed our samples in the sun so you can see the exquisite sheen the yarn has. We also love the deep rich colors. While Bowen is available in all of our hand dyed colors, below is a sampling to get you started. Enjoy! |
